Simon, I agree, its only words and never done me any harm either (erm...)
However it is just common decency you watch your language a bit in front of certain people and especially around kids, its 2016 now, different times even compared to when I was being dragged along as a kid in the 90s, and there's gonna be a lot more families/kids there instead of mostly pissed blokes these days.
The sensible, logical answer would of course be the club to have a family area specially for kids etc (like the old centenary upper) but as we all know too well common sense and West Ham don't really go together.

I sat next to a Romanian who said he did not support Astra, and liked all the london teams. He thought a handful of Astra fans celebrating their goal were thoughtless and playing a dangerous game. By the end of the game he was asking me how much a season ticket is and he said there was a great atmosphere in the stadium.

Apparently they had opened up one of the doors to go outside but every one we went to we were told it was the next one, then the next one, until we were told they only opened the doors at half time and it was about to kick off again so they'd closed it

Romanians scatterd around the ground can hardly be classed as 'away' fans can they. Most of them probably live in East London and support West Ham for any other match but maybe last night had split loyalties.

On the concourse outside the Bobby Moore stand there were loads of people smoking away inside. Not giving a crap. Now I am a smoker and had I been pissed I a may have been tempted but it was very family orientated last night and kids don't need to be exposed to that. The stewards came along and most people just laughed them away and carried on.

I had some proper nut job near me. He was wearing an old West Ham away top with holes in and it was covered in dried mud and he stunk. He was swearing his head off all game.

Who said anything about taking swearing away? Its just pretty much common decency ain't it, when around kids and women and families you hold back a bit.
I'd like to think if I'd just called Valencia a useless cunt or the away fans a load of gypo cunts and someone with a kid asked me to keep it down a bit I'd apologise and carry on watching the game and remember who was nearby, not kick off with them and get kicked out and end up on youtube embarrassing myself.
Whether or not they should be bringing their kids to football if they don't want them to hear swearing is a different argument entirely.

It was all very middle class where I was. Like a coffee shop on upper st. I think I let out a couple of 'for fucks sake' which is standard for watching this shower.
